About the Role
This role is responsible for developing and executing a strategy to grow foundation-generated income. The manager will identify new funding opportunities, prepare proposals and reports, and steward existing partners to deepen engagement and renewals.
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end process for foundation fundraising campaigns
- Research and identify prospective institutional funders aligned with organizational priorities
- Develop compelling funding proposals, concept notes, and budgets tailored to donor interests
- Manage submission processes for grants and applications within deadlines
- Maintain accurate records of donor interactions and funding pipelines
- Build and sustain long-term relationships with foundation representatives
- Coordinate with program teams to translate project work into donor-facing materials
- Monitor grant performance and lead reporting to donors
- Track funding trends and opportunities in the counter-extremism and disinformation space
- Represent the organization at donor meetings and sector events
- Collaborate with finance to ensure compliance with grant requirements
- Support the development of donor cultivation strategies
- Contribute to organizational strategy through donor insights
- Ensure timely follow-ups and stewardship communications
- Work cross-functionally to align fundraising goals with program objectives
- Identify opportunities for multi-donor initiatives or consortia
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of donor landscapes in Europe and North America
- Draft presentations and briefing materials for senior leadership
- Support the preparation of annual fundraising plans
- Evaluate success of funding strategies and recommend improvements
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in a relevant field such as international relations or social sciences
- Fluency in a second language
- Existing network of contacts in the foundation sector
- Experience securing funding from major European or US-based foundations
- Knowledge of counter-extremism policy and programming
