Responsibilities
- Serve as the permanent technical representative in Zambia, embedded full-time within the Ministry of Health.
- Integrate directly into the Ministry’s operations, functioning as a trusted and consistent member of the extended team.
- Develop a comprehensive, long-term understanding of national health data systems, organizational structures, and operational goals.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships across all levels of the Ministry, from frontline staff to senior officials.
- Act as the main technical liaison for all in-country activities, coordinating with launch teams, country leads, and visiting engineers.
- Deliver immediate, tangible value through on-site technical engagement.
- Quickly access, analyze, and integrate diverse data sources such as DHIS2, SCADA systems, network platforms, and operational databases.
- Identify and address client challenges by rapidly prototyping and deploying proof-of-concepts and minimum viable products using established tools and frameworks.
- Evolve initial prototypes into robust, production-ready systems used daily by Ministry staff.
- Take full ownership of deployed systems, ensuring sustained performance through monitoring, maintenance, and user-driven improvements.
- Measure and report the impact and value delivered through implemented solutions.
- Advance product-led growth by demonstrating and applying existing software capabilities effectively.
- Master the full product suite and apply it strategically within the health domain.
- Capture and share insights, challenges, and successful approaches as reusable templates for other teams.
- Proactively identify new opportunities for expansion and deeper engagement during field operations.
- Strengthen local technical capacity and ensure long-term sustainability of systems.
- Collaborate with Ministry personnel to jointly develop solutions and transfer knowledge progressively.
- Recruit and mentor local talent in data engineering, science, and analysis to build self-sufficiency.
- Create training resources and documentation adapted to local language, context, and skill levels.
- Ensure continuity between deployment and long-term local ownership, avoiding disruption during transitions.
- Inform product development through structured feedback from the field.
- Share on-the-ground experience to enhance core platforms via technical reviews, collaborative problem-solving sessions, and documented patterns.
- Turn ad-hoc solutions into standardized, scalable practices so future teams can deploy faster.
- Ensure field insights directly influence at least 30% of future product development priorities.
