Responsibilities

  • Aid detectives in identifying unsolved homicide and sexual assault cases with forensic evidence.
  • Oversee a database of unsolved homicide and sexual assault case files.
  • Compile unsolved homicide and sexual assault case files.
  • Work with the Bronx District Attorney's Forensic Science Unit, NYPD, and Office of Chief Medical Examiner to identify and submit evidence for forensic testing.
  • Assist in investigative genealogy investigations.
  • Act as a liaison to the NYPD Laboratory for various laboratory sections, including narcotics and ballistics.
  • Request and distribute laboratory reports for narcotics, ballistics, and other laboratory sections.
  • Perform additional tasks to support the Strategic Enforcement and Intergovernmental Relations Division.
  • New hires may be eligible for a hybrid remote work schedule after a 6-12 month probationary period.
  • Complete any other assigned tasks.
