Responsibilities
- Aid detectives in identifying unsolved homicide and sexual assault cases with forensic evidence.
- Oversee a database of unsolved homicide and sexual assault case files.
- Compile unsolved homicide and sexual assault case files.
- Work with the Bronx District Attorney's Forensic Science Unit, NYPD, and Office of Chief Medical Examiner to identify and submit evidence for forensic testing.
- Assist in investigative genealogy investigations.
- Act as a liaison to the NYPD Laboratory for various laboratory sections, including narcotics and ballistics.
- Request and distribute laboratory reports for narcotics, ballistics, and other laboratory sections.
- Perform additional tasks to support the Strategic Enforcement and Intergovernmental Relations Division.
- New hires may be eligible for a hybrid remote work schedule after a 6-12 month probationary period.
- Complete any other assigned tasks.
