Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is looking for a Flight Test Engineer to perform engineering work related to research, design, development, service, and manufacture of our aircraft. This role is based onsite in Savannah, GA and is an entry-level position supporting on-aircraft flight testing and data analysis.
What You'll Do
- Solve typical engineering problems within your assigned discipline.
- Provide technical assistance to engineering staff and contribute to the completion of project milestones.
- Take responsibility for a complex engineering assignment or a full project of lesser complexity.
- Follow established schedules while developing plans for engineering assignments.
- Actively work to improve daily processes and ensure all work meets customer requirements.
- Maintain current knowledge of developments and applications of technical principles, theories, and concepts in your field.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related curriculum, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 18 months of related Engineering experience.
- More than 3 years but less than 5 years of total experience.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Nice to Have
- Experience writing flight test plans and/or flight test reports.
- Experience with MATLAB or Python.
- Experience with data analysis.
- Experience deriving instrumentation requirements for on-aircraft flight testing.
- Experience with 14 CFR Part 23 or Part 25 regulations.
- Pilot experience.
- Experience with Honeywell Epic for Gulfstream Symmetry or PlaneView.
- Experience with IADS or any real-time data monitoring systems.
- Academic or project experience in one or more of: Aircraft performance, handling qualities, flight controls, flutter, loads, or aerodynamics; Avionics; Electrical systems; Powerplant engineering; Mechanical systems.
