Social Discovery Group is hiring a Financial Planner & Analyst

About the Role

You will play a central role in shaping financial strategy by gathering, verifying, and interpreting key business and financial metrics across departments. Your work will directly influence planning, forecasting, and operational efficiency. Using data as a foundation, you'll automate reporting workflows, assess budget performance, and uncover trends that inform leadership decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, validate, and interpret financial and operational data across the organization
  • Develop and maintain automated management reports to streamline decision-making
  • Produce financial forecasts and provide actionable recommendations
  • Monitor budget adherence and evaluate cost-effectiveness across functions
  • Identify and investigate variances in financial or business performance
  • Deliver data-backed insights to support marketing, product, and client-facing teams
  • Improve internal financial processes and contribute to planning cycles
  • Present findings and analysis to senior stakeholders

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, management accounting, or business analytics, preferably in digital or technology-driven environments
  • Firm grasp of financial principles, economic models, and foundational statistics
  • Ability to differentiate internal performance analysis from investment evaluation
  • Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets or Excel, including complex formulas and handling large datasets
  • Strong SQL skills for querying and analyzing data — required
  • High attention to detail and consistent accuracy in reporting outputs

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Python for data analysis or a clear willingness to develop proficiency

Technology Environment

Google Sheets, Excel, SQL, and Python are core tools used in daily workflows.

Work Environment

This is a fully remote position open to candidates worldwide. You can work full time from any location, with no requirement to relocate. The team spans multiple time zones and operates in a flexible, asynchronous manner.
