About the Role

As a Financial Analyst in the Capital Project Services Division, you will contribute to the financial integrity and planning of major capital initiatives within the Land Use and Transportation department. Reporting to a Senior Financial Analyst, you will help align financial strategy with project execution, ensuring accurate budget tracking and effective resource allocation across complex programs.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate financial planning and reporting for capital projects, ensuring alignment with departmental and countywide objectives
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, forecast outcomes, and support informed decision-making
  • Collaborate with project managers and finance staff to monitor budget performance and resolve discrepancies
  • Apply critical thinking and attention to detail when evaluating financial scenarios and proposing solutions
  • Engage constructively with team members and supervisors, incorporating feedback to improve processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, statistics, or a related field plus two years of professional experience in budgetary or financial analysis, auditing, or a comparable role
  • Alternatively, an Associate’s degree in one of these fields with four years of relevant experience
  • Or six years of progressive professional experience in financial or budget analysis, with at least four years in the public sector
  • Demonstrated ability to connect your background directly to the responsibilities of the role through your application and supplemental responses
  • Consistency between your submitted materials and answers to qualifying questions is essential

Compensation & Work Environment

The salary range for this onsite position is $88,233.12 to $107,224.92 annually. Starting pay is determined in compliance with the Oregon Equal Pay Law. Work is based in Washington County, Oregon, with no remote option. The county operates under a merit-based system that values skills, experience, and equitable practices.
