Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive financial analysis and strategic guidance to Global Functional Leaders, focusing on identifying and interpreting cost drivers.
- Coordinate and prioritize financial initiatives in collaboration with Engineering Business Managers and Business Planners.
- Conduct financial planning and analysis activities, including budget preparation, monthly performance reviews, and executive presentations for North America and global engineering leadership.
- Enhance engineering business strategies using sound financial judgment and a deep understanding of key performance drivers.
- Lead high-level financial assessments of budget controls and system enhancements, interfacing with various engineering departments to respond to financial inquiries.
- Address financial challenges within engineering and develop innovative analytical methods to improve decision-making efficiency.
- Evaluate the relationship between materials and tooling expenditures and overall engineering costs by analyzing bill of materials (BOM) data.
- Prepare accurate month-end and quarterly journal entries in compliance with US GAAP to reflect engineering spending and accounting adjustments.
- Oversee engineering budgets and monthly forecasts at a granular cost level using the Global Engineering Finance System (GEFS) and Hyperion tools.
- Process accruals and manual journal entries in SAP while maintaining up-to-date records of engineering costs.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to gather cost estimates for vehicle programs, factoring in currency fluctuations, import/export taxes, and customs duties.
- Utilize financial systems such as GEFS, SAP, GEPS, GPCS, and GFCTS to assess financial forecasts and evaluate business risks.
- Interpret financial and operational data to model various scenarios and support monthly forecasting and budgeting decisions.
- Facilitate cross-regional and cross-functional information sharing to support informed decision-making by Global Functional Leaders.
