Responsibilities
- Adhere to all guidelines outlined in the Case Management plan and remain accountable for its execution.
- Accept case referrals as directed by the Case Management Director.
- Initiate contact according to the Case Management protocol, schedule initial evaluations, and confirm the date of the next medical appointment.
- Verify case assignment with the referring party and clarify any special handling requirements.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with clients, ensuring claimants are treated with respect and empathy.
- Contact the insurance carrier and insured party after medical visits, and sustain regular communication with the injured worker, carrier, and policyholder.
- Enter case details and billing information into CaseAnyplace and submit timely monthly reports including preliminary, initial, progress, and closing documentation.
- Attend medical appointments to gather key clinical information such as diagnosis, expected recovery, treatment approach, rehabilitation duration, return-to-work estimates, and anticipated MMI or full recovery dates.
- Refer cases to a vocational counselor for job analysis when appropriate and authorized by the carrier.
- Suggest independent medical exam physicians, arrange appointments, and attend when necessary.
- Arrange transportation for clients when required.
- Offer translation services during medical interactions when applicable and qualified.
- Monitor the prescribed treatment plan, attend therapy sessions when appropriate, and stay in contact with therapists for progress updates.
- Transfer relevant documentation to vocational counselors when needed for labor market surveys or vocational rehabilitation.
- Support carriers and insured parties in planning return-to-work strategies, including modified or full-duty options.
- Supply necessary medical case details to defense attorneys when appropriate.
- Foster collaboration and cooperation among all team members.
- Ensure accurate and billable time is maximized in alignment with the monthly target of eight billable hours per day.
- Keep professional licenses and certifications current and complete all mandatory annual training on schedule.
- Carry out additional clinical responsibilities as assigned by management.
- Remain responsible for tasks assigned to non-clinical support staff.
