Responsibilities
- Oversee construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of AIS/GIS substations, transmission lines, and hybrid renewable evacuation infrastructure operating between 33kV and 765kV.
- Verify field activities align with approved design drawings, technical specifications, quality assurance plans, and defined construction methods.
- Track project execution against L2 and L3 schedules, identify potential delays or risks, and assist in corrective measures in coordination with project controls.
- Prepare and maintain daily and weekly progress reports, site records, and compliance documentation.
- Supervise surveying, tower location, foundation construction, stub setting, tower assembly, and conductor stringing for transmission lines.
- Monitor OPGW installation, including sag-tensioning, ensuring compliance with approved profiles and clearance requirements.
- Manage right-of-way matters, statutory clearances, and coordination with external stakeholders.
- Ensure line construction meets applicable technical codes and quality standards.
- Direct the installation and commissioning of power transformers and reactors at substations.
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of GIS and AIS switchgear, busbars, and associated substation equipment.
- Supervise setup and testing of protection relays, control systems, SCADA/SAS, and metering infrastructure.
- Verify proper implementation of grounding, lightning protection, and cable routing systems.
- Witness pre-commissioning inspections, functional tests, and system energization procedures.
- Coordinate grid connectivity for solar photovoltaic plants, wind farms, and hybrid energy systems.
- Supervise pooling substations, step-up transformers, and medium- to high-voltage cable networks for renewable sites.
- Support synchronization, grid code compliance, and performance verification of renewable energy installations.
- Manage installation and commissioning of containerized battery energy storage systems, including battery units, power conversion systems, transformers, and energy management integration.
- Supervise installation and commissioning of HVAC systems and fire detection and suppression systems at substations and energy facilities.
- Monitor key performance indicators such as depth of discharge, state of health, round-trip efficiency, and auxiliary power usage.
- Enforce adherence to safety protocols and operational standards across all field activities.
- Support construction and integration of HVDC converter stations, including converter transformers, valve halls, and control systems.
- Assist in deploying STATCOM units, PMU/WAMS systems, and digital substation solutions.
- Coordinate with OEM representatives during equipment installation and commissioning phases.
- Review and validate technical submittals, vendor drawings, bills of quantities, and layout plans.
- Ensure all works comply with CEA, CTU, STU regulations, IS and IEC standards, and Grid Code requirements.
