We are looking for a Civil Engineer to serve as a Resident Engineer at a major federal research site. In this role, you will provide on-site engineering support for the planning, design, and execution of civil infrastructure projects. Your responsibilities will include reviewing technical submittals, monitoring construction activities, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, and coordinating between contractors and technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee civil construction projects from inception through completion with a focus on quality, safety, and schedule adherence
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and change orders for technical accuracy and code compliance
- Act as the primary point of contact for on-site engineering matters, providing guidance and resolving technical issues
- Conduct regular site inspections and prepare detailed progress and inspection reports
- Ensure all work aligns with federal regulations, environmental standards, and project requirements
Qualifications
Candidates must hold a professional engineering license and have demonstrated experience in civil engineering, particularly in construction management or field engineering roles. Strong organizational skills, technical judgment, and the ability to work independently in a highly technical environment are essential. A background in large-scale infrastructure projects, especially within federally funded settings, is highly desirable.
