About the Role
Design and develop high-quality infant apparel collections that align with brand standards, safety regulations, and market demands, while working within a flexible schedule.
Responsibilities
- Create original designs for infant clothing lines
- Ensure all garments meet safety and quality standards
- Collaborate with production teams on sample development
- Select appropriate fabrics and trims for baby wear
- Stay updated on children's fashion trends and consumer needs
- Produce technical sketches and design specifications
- Participate in fit sessions and product evaluations
- Revise designs based on feedback and testing results
- Maintain consistency across product lines
- Support product launches and presentations
- Manage timelines for design and production cycles
- Ensure cost-efficiency in material selection
- Follow ethical and sustainable design practices
- Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers
- Adhere to brand guidelines and aesthetic direction
- Conduct research on infant sizing and fit
- Integrate seasonal themes into collections
- Ensure compliance with labeling and regulatory requirements
- Document design processes and iterations
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams
Nice to Have
- Experience with organic or hypoallergenic fabrics
- Background in sustainable fashion
- Knowledge of UK retail market for baby products
- Experience in size grading for infants
