This position supports the Environmental Management Sector at the Savannah River Site in Aiken, South Carolina, providing senior-level expertise in Facility Management and Integration Management. The role focuses on technical oversight, safety compliance, and operational readiness within a high-stakes nuclear environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare Shift Operations Manager, Vitrification Control Room Manager, and Shift Technical Engineer candidates for qualification evaluations through structured mentoring and readiness planning
- Act as the primary technical authority for Technical Safety Requirements (TSR), serving as the liaison between Nuclear Safety teams and facility operations
- Lead and support revisions to TSR documentation and contribute to annual updates of Safety Bases, ensuring clarity and adherence to established standards
- Oversee maintenance, upgrades, and technical improvements for Operator Training Simulators used by SRMC personnel
- Advise on proposed changes to safety systems to ensure alignment with simplicity and regulatory clarity requirements
- Maintain and submit a daily worklog detailing tasks and time spent, with submissions provided at least weekly
- Perform additional duties as directed by the subcontractor organization
Qualifications
- Senior-level consulting experience in Facility Management or related technical domains
- Proven background supporting clients in the Environmental Management Sector
- Direct experience as part of an Engagement Team Cadre in a Facility Management SME capacity
- Track record of fulfilling Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contractual obligations
- Functional proficiency in facility operations support and integration management
- Hands-on experience maintaining and upgrading Operator Training Simulators
- Established role as a Technical Safety Requirements (TSR) System SME
- Experience bridging Nuclear Safety and operational teams for policy and procedural alignment
- Background in mentoring technical staff through formal qualification processes
- Ability to manage simulator programs and coordinate technical upgrades
