About the Role
The paralegal will assist attorneys in managing litigation cases, focusing on casualty defense, by preparing documentation, coordinating discovery, and maintaining case files to ensure efficient case progression.
Responsibilities
- Support attorneys in managing active litigation cases
- Prepare and organize discovery responses and requests
- Draft legal documents including pleadings and motions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files
- Coordinate communication between legal teams and clients
- Assist in trial preparation and case strategy development
- Conduct legal research on relevant statutes and case law
- Summarize depositions, transcripts, and medical records
- Manage deadlines and court filing requirements
- Liaise with experts, witnesses, and outside counsel
- Organize and track evidence and exhibits
- File documents with courts and regulatory bodies
- Review and analyze discovery materials
- Assist in preparing for depositions and hearings
- Update case management systems with case developments
- Ensure compliance with procedural rules and protocols
- Prepare correspondence and client updates
- Support settlement negotiations with documentation
- Coordinate service of process as needed
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive legal information
