Seattle Children's is hiring an Epic HIM/ROI Analyst, Senior

About the Role

This role involves managing and optimizing health information workflows within the Epic electronic health record system, with a focus on the Release of Information function. The analyst ensures compliance with privacy regulations, supports data integrity, and collaborates with clinical and technical teams to improve processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Epic HIM configurations related to patient records and data access
  • Support accurate and timely release of medical information to authorized parties
  • Troubleshoot system issues within the HIM and ROI modules of Epic
  • Collaborate with privacy officers to ensure HIPAA and regulatory compliance
  • Participate in system upgrades and software change management processes
  • Provide training and guidance to staff using HIM and ROI tools
  • Document system workflows and maintain up-to-date technical documentation
  • Analyze reporting needs and assist in generating meaningful data outputs
  • Serve as a liaison between clinical teams and IT departments
  • Monitor system performance and recommend process improvements
  • Assist in audits and compliance reviews related to health information access
  • Ensure proper handling of consent forms and authorization documentation
  • Support integration between HIM functions and other clinical systems
  • Respond to user inquiries regarding record requests and system usage
  • Maintain current knowledge of Epic system enhancements in HIM/ROI
  • Participate in project planning for new implementations or enhancements
  • Validate data accuracy in patient health records within the EHR
  • Work with security teams to manage user access permissions
  • Assist in testing new features and system patches
  • Promote best practices for electronic health record management
  • Contribute to standardization of departmental procedures
  • Evaluate workflow efficiency and identify automation opportunities
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning for HIM data
  • Ensure consistent application of organizational policies in the EHR
  • Facilitate communication during system downtime events
