Responsibilities
- Conducting routine fieldwork including sampling of environmental media (e.g., soil, groundwater, surface water, soil vapor, and air), utilizing standard field equipment and instruments for data collection and monitoring such as photoionization detectors (PID), soil-groundwater interface probes, and multiparameter water quality meters.
- Performing environmental site assessments/inspections and basic calculations related to site investigation and remediation activities.
- Managing field sample chain-of-custody documentation, packaging, and shipping to laboratories.
- Performing operation and maintenance (O&M) on remediation systems
- Overseeing contractor field tasks related to site investigation and remediation activities.
- Supporting the coordination of field activities, including utility locating, surveying, and oversight of investigation and remediation projects under the direction and guidance of project managers.
- Documenting field activities accurately and maintains detailed, organized field notes in accordance with project requirements.
- Communicating effectively with project managers and team members to provide timely updates on field progress, and safety observations.
- Building experience toward an Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification.
