Novo Nordisk was looking for an Environmental Professional

Novo Nordisk is looking for an Environmental Professional to drive our environmental impact and sustainability efforts within Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) production at the Chemistry Pilot Plant. You will be at the forefront of ensuring compliance and protection while supporting sustainability processes that help bring breakthrough treatments to life.

What You'll Do

  • Drive Circular-for-zero initiatives to promote sustainability and reduce the environmental footprint of the production unit.
  • Provide project support by performing environmental assessments of new equipment, chemicals, processes, and modifications to ensure a safe workplace.
  • Define annual environmental targets.
  • Monitor and report environmental data, such as ethanol waste, emissions, and raw material consumption, to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Take part in environmental (ISO 14001) inspections.
  • Handle environmental incidents to ensure adequate control and correction.
  • Conduct training to ensure employees understand and adhere to the company's environmental policies.

What We're Looking For

  • A bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or another related technical field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders at all levels.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Structured, reliable, and can pay attention to detail.
  • Self-driven and self-motivated, with a strong 'can-do' attitude and confidence.
  • Work well as part of a team but also excel when working independently and taking initiative.
  • Eager to engage with production teams and curious to understand daily facility operations.
  • Can prioritize tasks, ensure timely escalation, and adapt to changing demands.

Nice to Have

  • Proven experience in environmental management within a regulated production environment.
  • Experience in project work.

Team & Environment

The Chemistry Pilot Plant team consists of 58 motivated employees divided into 4 teams. You will join the support team of 13 employees (8 scientists, 4 technicians, and a student worker). This role is part of Chemistry Pilot Plant (ChPP), which belongs to Chemistry, Manufacturing & Control (CMC) API Pilots DK.

Work Mode

This is an onsite position based in Bagsværd.
