Responsibilities
- Help ensure compliance with environmental regulations such as EPCRA, air permitting, SPCC, and hazardous materials reporting at federal, state, and local levels.
- Support the creation and submission of environmental documentation, permits, and records to regulatory bodies.
- Perform routine environmental inspections and assessments to verify compliance and locate improvement opportunities.
- Track environmental performance data including emissions, waste, and water use, and suggest sustainability enhancements.
- Offer technical expertise on environmental issues to internal departments as needed.
- Fulfill additional tasks as assigned by management.
- Coordinate with internal groups to maintain and update environmental management systems aligned with ISO 14001 standards.
- Support the ongoing development and refinement of the ISO 14001 environmental management system.
- Manage records, procedures, and documentation related to environmental management systems.
- Take part in internal audits and management review meetings for environmental compliance.
- Assist in securing and renewing air quality permits, including monitoring emission sources and compliance conditions.
- Maintain accurate records and submit periodic reports for air quality, including emissions data and deviations.
- Prepare and submit annual EPCRA Tier II reports.
- Support proper handling, storage, labeling, and disposal of hazardous materials in line with regulatory requirements.
- Work with site teams to meet emergency planning and community right-to-know obligations.
- Ensure compliance with refrigerant management regulations in both the U.S. and Canada, including tracking usage and leak repairs.
- Support compliance for fuel storage systems such as diesel generators and aboveground or underground tanks.
- Coordinate fuel-related permits, registrations, and inspection schedules.
- Maintain and assist in deploying Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans.
- Support spill response planning, training, and post-incident follow-up procedures.
- Collaborate with safety personnel to meet OSHA and Canadian provincial occupational health and safety requirements.
- Contribute to designing and delivering environmental and safety training for data center personnel.
- Assist in investigating environmental and safety incidents and ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Advance organizational sustainability goals by identifying ways to reduce environmental impact and improve energy efficiency.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to create and execute green initiatives and environmental improvement projects.
