Role Overview
As a Translation Quality Reviewer, you will perform detailed second-pass evaluations of machine-translated customer service texts. Your primary responsibility is to ensure translations meet high standards for language accuracy, tone, and consistency with established guidelines. This is an intermittent position with flexible scheduling, ideal for professionals with a background in linguistic quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough quality reviews of translated content to verify correctness and fluency in UK English
- Assess and standardize judgments on error severity to align with defined quality benchmarks
- Detect recurring issues in machine translation, such as terminology mismatches, tone deviations, or structural inaccuracies
- Deliver clear, constructive feedback that informs quality reporting and helps improve translation systems over time
Qualifications
- Native-level command of English (United Kingdom) with strong writing and editing skills
- Proven experience in translation review, machine translation evaluation, or localization QA
- Familiarity with linguistic error taxonomies and quality assessment frameworks
- Highly detail-oriented with an analytical approach to language evaluation
- Capable of working independently and delivering precise, actionable feedback
Work Arrangement
This is a remote, as-needed position with tasks distributed intermittently based on project demand. Work volume and timing fluctuate throughout the year, offering flexibility for independent contributors.
Compensation
Compensated at a rate of $36.86 per hour.
