Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors was looking for an Engineering Manager, SDK (Remote - UK, Spain, New York)

Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is hiring an Engineering Manager, SDK to lead and grow a highly skilled engineering team focused on building SDKs and integration solutions within the cybersecurity space. You will shape technical strategy while remaining hands-on with architecture and code, collaborating with enterprise customers and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless connectivity with third-party platforms.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and expand the SDK and Integrations engineering team while actively participating in code reviews and architecture decisions.
  • Design, build, and maintain SDKs that enable smooth integration between the cybersecurity platform and enterprise third-party tools.
  • Own the end-to-end developer experience, including API design, documentation, integration guides, and deployment processes.
  • Collaborate with customers and partners to gather integration requirements and prioritize roadmap features.
  • Drive key technical decisions around SDK architecture such as versioning, backward compatibility, and multi-platform support.
  • Mentor engineers on technical skills, best practices, career growth, and foster a culture emphasizing quality, testing, and documentation.
  • Partner with developer relations and customer success to collect feedback and continually enhance SDK usability.
  • Establish engineering best practices including CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and release management.
  • Build strong relationships with enterprise customers, acting as their internal technical advocate.

What We're Looking For

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, including leadership of engineering teams while remaining technically engaged.
  • Proven expertise in building and shipping production services primarily in Kotlin.
  • Demonstrated success delivering SDKs, APIs, or integration solutions across multiple programming languages.
  • Ability to quickly understand streaming technologies, including codecs, protocols, and latency optimization.
  • Strong developer advocacy mindset, balancing technical excellence with business goals and delivery schedules.
  • Experience with enterprise authentication methods such as OAuth and SAML, API security, and compliance.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to translate technical and business requirements.
  • Solid technical leadership with experience making architectural decisions and managing team development.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with Go and Rust is a plus.
