About the company

  • Founded in 2017, the company is building an API-first infrastructure to unify the fragmented travel industry, enabling seamless connections between hotels, online travel agencies, fintechs, and super-apps
  • The platform simplifies complex supplier networks, offering direct access to hotel inventory with improved pricing, coverage, and technology
  • With global teams in London, New York, San Francisco, Palma de Mallorca, and Casablanca, it serves industry leaders such as Hopper, Priceline, Google, and Uber
  • Backed by top-tier investors including Accel and executives from Booking.com, Stripe, and Shopify, the company is redefining B2B travel infrastructure

About the role

  • Position available remotely within the EU or in hybrid mode in Barcelona, Palma, Dublin, or Casablanca
  • Engineering Manager role designed for someone who wants to remain deeply involved in complex technical and data challenges
  • Responsible for leading the platform that converts messy global hotel supply data into accurate, reliable, and sellable inventory
  • Lead a mission-critical domain where matching, deduplication, content enrichment, automation, and machine learning determine inventory usability
  • Supplier data varies widely—same properties appear under different IDs, room types differ in naming and structure, and content may be incomplete or misassigned
  • Cupid, the internal mapping platform, manages hotel, room, and content mapping alongside operational workflows to maintain high inventory quality at scale
  • You will lead the team, modernize systems and processes, and create alignment across engineering, data/ML, and operations
  • Your core mission: convert fragmented supplier data into trustworthy inventory that customers can search, trust, book, and sell

What makes it interesting for you

  • You own a hard, specific domain at the core of hotel inventory quality
  • You stay close to technical decisions, architecture, data flows, and tradeoffs
  • You work on production ML problems around matching, classification, enrichment, automation, and data quality
  • You modernise a mature platform with real room to improve the systems, workflows, and team structure
  • Your work connects directly to conversion, supply quality, customer experience, and revenue

The kind of problems you’ll work on

  • How do we match the same hotel or room when different suppliers describe it differently?
  • How do we make images, descriptions, amenities, and other content more accurate and useful?
  • How do we use automation and ML to improve mapping quality while keeping systems explainable and operable?
  • How do we reduce manual work and operational bottlenecks while keeping quality high?
  • How do we create one clear operating model across engineering, data/ML, and mapping operations?

This role fits if you

  • have experience as an Engineering Manager or senior technical engineering leader
  • have a strong software engineering / computer science background
  • understand backend, data, platform, and infrastructure systems
  • have led teams working on complex data-heavy products
  • can mentor engineers and raise the technical bar in a relatively junior team
  • can connect technical work to user value, quality, and commercial outcomes
  • are structured, pragmatic, and analytical

Preferred qualifications

Experience with matching, entity resolution, search, ranking, recommendations, classification, content enrichment, catalog quality, data quality automation, or production ML/data systems would be especially relevant.

Interview Process

  • You can apply with your LinkedIn profile or CV.
  • The process is straightforward and typically takes 2 to 3 weeks.

Other

  • Remote in EU or hybrid in Barcelona, Palma, Dublin, or Casablanca
  • Role involves leading engineering, data/ML, and mapping operations
  • High-ownership role with meaningful equity in the company
  • Fast-moving, low on process, high on ownership environment
