As the Engineering Manager for the AI Services team, you will lead a diverse group of software engineers in developing BearQ, an AI-native platform designed to transform application testing. Your role combines technical leadership with people management, ensuring both product excellence and team growth in a fast-moving, hybrid environment based in Somerville, MA.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide a full-stack engineering team through all phases of development, from concept to deployment, supporting engineers at all levels
- Strengthen the software development lifecycle by integrating modern practices such as Agile, continuous integration, and test-driven development
- Assign tasks and prioritize issues based on team members' strengths and experience
- Collaborate with product management, design, and leadership to align technical execution with business goals
- Incorporate customer insights into product planning and contribute to architectural decisions for new features
- Maintain deep visibility into system architecture, data flow, and service interactions across the platform
- Establish clear engineering processes and success metrics to ensure reliable, market-ready releases
Qualifications
- Minimum of three years managing software engineering teams using Agile methodologies
- At least one year of hands-on software development experience in a production environment
- Proven ability to translate strategic objectives into technical roadmaps with realistic timelines
- Strong communication skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving and team support
- Experience working in SaaS environments with distributed or remote team members
- Fluency in English is required
Technology Environment
The team builds using TypeScript, Vue, and standard web technologies, deployed on AWS infrastructure including EC2, S3, RDS, and ECS.
