AECOM is hiring an Engineering Geologist / Geotechnical Engineer

About the Role

This position involves conducting field and laboratory work, preparing technical reports, and providing geotechnical guidance for civil infrastructure developments. Candidates should have strong analytical skills and experience in subsurface exploration and site characterization.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field investigations including drilling supervision and soil sampling
  • Conduct site assessments to evaluate subsurface conditions
  • Prepare geotechnical reports and recommendations
  • Analyze soil and rock properties for engineering design
  • Support design teams with foundation and slope stability analysis
  • Interpret geological data for project planning
  • Oversee laboratory testing of soil samples
  • Develop excavation support plans
  • Evaluate seismic hazards and ground motion impacts
  • Assess risks related to landslides and settlement
  • Collaborate with civil engineers and project managers
  • Ensure compliance with technical standards and regulations
  • Use geospatial tools for data interpretation
  • Participate in construction monitoring and observation
  • Review grading and drainage plans
  • Assist in preparing cost estimates and project schedules
  • Conduct field logging of subsurface materials
  • Apply principles of soil mechanics and rock mechanics
  • Support emergency response for ground-related incidents
  • Maintain accurate field records and documentation
  • Present findings to project stakeholders
  • Use computer models for geotechnical simulations
  • Coordinate with environmental specialists
  • Support permitting and regulatory submissions
  • Stay current with industry practices and safety protocols
