Lead the development of an AI-powered platform that enables businesses to personalize and extend their marketing workflows. As Engineering Director, you'll oversee the Brand Intelligence team, which powers core capabilities including Jasper IQ and the company's public API. This role is essential in shaping how users interact with and customize AI-driven tools.
What You’ll Do
- Manage and grow a team focused on AI systems and API integrations, ensuring technical precision and alignment with product goals
- Apply expertise in Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to influence architecture, product evolution, and system scalability
- Foster a culture rooted in trust, inclusivity, and continuous feedback, where engineers are empowered to learn and lead
- Partner with product, design, and go-to-market teams to define priorities, build roadmaps, and deliver features that meet diverse user needs
- Establish reliable engineering practices, remove obstacles, and adapt processes as the team expands
- Support professional growth through coaching, mentorship, and technical guidance
- Contribute to high-level planning, architectural decisions, and strategic discussions with executive leadership
- Play an active role in recruiting, onboarding, and scaling the engineering organization
What We’re Looking For
- At least 8 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on backend, full-stack, or infrastructure development
- 4+ years leading engineering teams, including 2+ years in senior management or director-level roles within fast-growing SaaS or product-driven companies
- Proven ability to dive into code, review technical implementations, and collaborate closely with engineers when needed
- Solid background in AI technologies, particularly RAG, with real-world deployment experience
- History of delivering robust, user-focused features alongside cross-functional teams
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience leading distributed teams in a remote environment

Technology Environment
Work with AI systems, RAG frameworks, API integrations, and scalable backend and infrastructure platforms. The stack supports full-stack development with an emphasis on performance, reliability, and extensibility.
Work Model
This is a fully remote position for candidates based in the continental United States. There are no office requirements, and work is structured to support flexibility and autonomy.

Compensation
Base salary range: $244,000 – $305,000. Includes eligibility for equity grants and a 401(k) match of up to 2%.
