Western Digital is hiring an Engineer, Software Development Engineering (Apps)

Responsibilities

  • Develop Python and MATLAB scripts to automate manual validation testing processes and accelerate product testing timelines.
  • Create and maintain web-based internal tools used regularly by validation and product development teams.
  • Partner with validation engineers to convert manual workflows into reliable, error-reducing software solutions.
  • Identify repetitive engineering tasks and implement automation to increase lab productivity.
  • Engage in full-stack development, contributing to both server-side logic and user-facing interfaces.
  • Assist in integrating automated tests into continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Work with SATA-based storage protocols and testing environments used in product validation.
  • Take part in technical design reviews to exchange knowledge, refine processes, and collaborate across disciplines.
