Responsibilities
- Create and implement test scenarios for networking hardware such as switches, professional-grade routers, access points, and security systems with advanced wireless and network capabilities.
- Verify performance of wireless networking technologies including 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be standards, seamless roaming, band steering, DFS compliance, and mesh network functionality.
- Assess and troubleshoot wireless security mechanisms such as WPA2 and WPA3, firewall operations, VPN connectivity, and network access restrictions.
- Ensure compatibility and proper interaction between wired and wireless components across Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking devices, including switches, routers, and client endpoints.
- Build and sustain automated test scripts using Python and the Robot Framework to streamline validation processes.
- Collaborate with senior quality assurance and software development personnel to isolate, replicate, and resolve technical issues.
- Log and monitor defects through Jira, maintain testing records in Confluence, and manage version control of test scripts via Git or GitHub.
- Conduct testing in both simulated and live environments using actual hardware including switches, access points, client devices, and security gateways.
- Engage in Agile workflows and coordinate with cross-functional teams including embedded systems, cloud services, and quality assurance groups.
