Role Overview
As a Software Engineer III specializing in QA with Python automation, you will play a central role in shaping the quality and reliability of critical product components. You'll lead the design and evolution of automated testing frameworks, ensuring comprehensive coverage across platforms and customer use cases. Your work will directly influence product stability, performance, and security through rigorous testing practices and engineering excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain scalable test automation frameworks that support parallel and distributed execution across diverse environments
- Own end-to-end quality for assigned features, ensuring alignment with real-world customer scenarios
- Collaborate closely with Agile teams, architects, and product stakeholders to define and implement effective test strategies
- Develop and execute both automated and manual test cases to validate complex platform capabilities
- Integrate AI and large language models into testing workflows to improve test generation, maintenance, and analysis
- Experiment with AI-agent systems for autonomous test orchestration, regression detection, and reporting
- Review and validate AI-generated test artifacts through reproducibility checks and quality controls
- Conduct root-cause analysis on test failures across development and release cycles
- Lead comprehensive bug tracking and resolution from identification through closure
- Drive continuous improvement across all phases of the test lifecycle, from planning to reporting
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years in software or systems testing with a focus on automation
- Proven experience in Python scripting and object-oriented programming principles
- Hands-on expertise in building and maintaining complex test automation frameworks with support for parallel execution
- Familiarity with AI/LLM applications in software testing, including prompt engineering and output validation
- Solid understanding of Linux operating systems, filesystems, and low-level debugging
- Knowledge of high availability, failover mechanisms, and hardware clustering
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Background in Agile development practices and CI/CD pipelines, particularly Git-based workflows
- Strong networking knowledge across layers 1 through 7, including routing, switching, and application protocols
- Ability to troubleshoot low-level platform and hardware issues is a plus
- Exceptional analytical thinking, problem-solving, and debugging capabilities
- Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing prompts and evaluating outputs from large language models
- Background in creating validation rules and guardrails for AI-generated content
- Exposure to agentic frameworks for multi-step automation tasks
- Track record measuring AI impact using metrics like test coverage improvement, triage time reduction, or defect detection rates
- Skill in uncovering edge cases and expanding test scenarios
- Experience generating synthetic test data and summarizing failure patterns
- Defect triage and root-cause classification expertise
