Role Overview
Join a technical team focused on firmware development for high-performance storage products. In this role, you will design, debug, and enhance firmware for solid-state drives running on embedded multi-core platforms. Your work will directly support customer adoption and qualification of SSD solutions, ensuring reliability and performance in real-world applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and integrate core firmware components for SSDs
- Diagnose and resolve firmware issues reported internally or by customers
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering groups to align on system-level requirements
- Develop proof-of-concept firmware in partnership with customers and ecosystem partners
- Support customer design-in efforts, including technical discussions and qualification support
- Participate in debugging sessions at customer sites when necessary
- Present technical details to field and account teams during remote calls
Qualifications
Required
- Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Computer Science
- Strong programming skills in C and C++
- Experience with software algorithm development
- Effective communication skills for working with global, cross-cultural teams
Preferred
- Familiarity with NVMe and PCIe protocol interfaces
- Understanding of Agile software development methodologies
- Knowledge of Windows, Linux, or Chrome PC system architectures
Technical Environment
Primary tools and technologies include C, C++, NVMe, PCIe, Agile development practices, and operating environments such as Windows, Linux, and Chrome PC platforms.
Work Model
This position operates in a hybrid mode, open to candidates based in California, Colorado, or New York. Remote work is supported for eligible roles in these states, with occasional travel to customer locations for critical issue resolution when feasible.
Compensation & Benefits
The salary range reflects the company's current benchmark for this role in applicable states. Additional compensation includes performance-based bonuses through the Short-Term Incentive (STI) plan and eligibility for Long-Term Incentive (LTI) awards in the form of restricted stock units or cash equivalents.
