Williams Lea by RRD is hiring an Encryption Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Deploy and maintain encryption systems to safeguard stored sensitive data in compliance with corporate IT governance standards.
  • Operate centralized key management services and enforce encryption rules across databases, file storage, and cloud platforms.
  • Assist in audits and compliance validations such as SOC2, PCI, and HIPAA by providing encryption-related evidence and controls.
  • Administer partitions on Luna Hardware Security Modules for secure cryptographic functions including digital signing, hashing, and root key protection.
  • Oversee backup and replication systems for virtual, physical, and cloud-based workloads to ensure data availability.
  • Manage the scheduling, monitoring, and resolution of backup jobs to achieve full success rates.
  • Conduct periodic backup and restore exercises to verify recovery capabilities for essential systems.
  • Leverage Dell Avamar and Data Domain integration for efficient deduplication and image-level proxy operations.
  • Maintain Veeam Backup & Replication solutions, including Salesforce data protection, immutable Linux repositories, and Instant VM Recovery.
  • Support technologies enabling real-time replication and continuous data protection.
  • Keep disaster recovery plans current and conduct quarterly failover tests to meet recovery time and point objectives.
  • Ensure reliable site-to-site connectivity and storage consistency during disaster recovery scenarios.
  • Install and configure Zerto Virtual Manager and Virtual Replication Appliances for real-time replication.
  • Set up the Zerto Journal to enable precise point-in-time recovery, allowing rollback to moments before data corruption or ransomware events.
  • Build Virtual Protection Groups for multi-tiered applications to preserve correct write order during replication.
  • Automate one-click failover processes and perform non-disruptive disaster recovery testing in isolated network environments.
  • Coordinate workload movement across platforms, including cloud migrations to Azure or AWS, replication between hypervisors, and intra-cloud recovery.
  • Track storage capacity and performance metrics for backup repositories.
  • Apply software patches, firmware updates, and version upgrades to encryption and data protection systems.
  • Work with Security Operations to deploy air-gapped and immutable backups as ransomware defenses.
  • Take part in the planning, deployment, testing, and support of new hardware and software, including vendor assessments.
  • Lead or support design initiatives within business units, ensuring alignment with best practices and infrastructure needs.
  • Respond to help requests from the Service Desk regarding hardware, software, or peripheral issues.
  • Classify and prioritize incidents by severity, urgency, and business impact, tracking them to resolution.
  • Escalate highly complex technical issues to senior support teams or specialized IT staff when necessary.
