Embedded Hardware Engineer Specialist – Moon Township, PA (onsite)
Role Overview
Lead the embedded hardware design and development for next-generation power electronics-based circuit breakers. This position drives innovation from concept through production, focusing on robust, reliable hardware solutions for advanced circuit protection. You will serve as a technical leader, shaping product requirements and ensuring alignment across engineering, application, and marketing teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead embedded hardware development for electronic trip units and circuit protection devices
- Define technical specifications in collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Design, simulate, and test embedded hardware systems using real-time operating environments
- Develop and validate control algorithms and fault management systems using Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) platforms
- Plan and track development tasks, including requirements definition, issue resolution, and design reviews
- Conduct formal testing to meet quality, reliability, and performance benchmarks
- Advance technical knowledge in embedded systems and contribute to research initiatives
- Partner with internal centers of excellence and external institutions to drive innovation
- Support phase-gate product development processes from Prelaunch through PROLaunch
- Generate and document intellectual property
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in embedded hardware and firmware development for electronic systems
- No immigration sponsorship available; applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without company support
Preferred Skills
- Proficiency in C and experience with C++
- Hands-on experience with wired and wireless communication protocols including CAN, Bluetooth, and WiFi
- Familiarity with defect tracking and version control systems
- Experience with project management tools such as Jira and JAMA
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Technology Environment
ARM Cortex and PIC microcontrollers, real-time operating systems, HIL testing, communication protocols (CAN, Bluetooth, WiFi), and embedded C/C++ development.
Compensation & Benefits
