About the Role
The position involves creating and maintaining firmware for advanced embedded systems using Qualcomm SoCs, with a focus on performance, stability, and efficient hardware utilization in small form-factor devices.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement firmware for embedded applications running on Qualcomm system-on-chip platforms
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration between firmware and physical components
- Optimize code for real-time execution and minimal power consumption
- Debug and resolve low-level software issues across multiple device layers
- Develop and maintain device drivers for custom peripherals
- Work closely with system architects to define firmware requirements
- Support bring-up of new hardware prototypes
- Ensure firmware reliability through rigorous testing and validation
- Integrate and adapt RTOS or bare-metal frameworks as needed
- Contribute to secure boot and firmware update mechanisms
- Analyze performance bottlenecks and implement targeted improvements
- Maintain detailed technical documentation for firmware modules
- Follow coding standards and version control practices
- Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions
- Assist in defining test strategies for embedded software components
Nice to Have
- Experience with Bluetooth Low Energy protocols in embedded contexts
- Familiarity with audio subsystems and digital signal paths
- Exposure to machine learning inference at the edge
- Prior work on wearable or hearable technology
- Knowledge of Qualcomm QCS or QCC series chips
- Experience with Python scripting for test automation
- Understanding of regulatory requirements for consumer electronics
