About the Role

The position involves creating and maintaining firmware for advanced embedded systems using Qualcomm SoCs, with a focus on performance, stability, and efficient hardware utilization in small form-factor devices.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement firmware for embedded applications running on Qualcomm system-on-chip platforms
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration between firmware and physical components
  • Optimize code for real-time execution and minimal power consumption
  • Debug and resolve low-level software issues across multiple device layers
  • Develop and maintain device drivers for custom peripherals
  • Work closely with system architects to define firmware requirements
  • Support bring-up of new hardware prototypes
  • Ensure firmware reliability through rigorous testing and validation
  • Integrate and adapt RTOS or bare-metal frameworks as needed
  • Contribute to secure boot and firmware update mechanisms
  • Analyze performance bottlenecks and implement targeted improvements
  • Maintain detailed technical documentation for firmware modules
  • Follow coding standards and version control practices
  • Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions
  • Assist in defining test strategies for embedded software components

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Bluetooth Low Energy protocols in embedded contexts
  • Familiarity with audio subsystems and digital signal paths
  • Exposure to machine learning inference at the edge
  • Prior work on wearable or hearable technology
  • Knowledge of Qualcomm QCS or QCC series chips
  • Experience with Python scripting for test automation
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements for consumer electronics
