Responsibilities
- Guide the electrical engineering function on healthcare, education, and school building projects while ensuring adherence to applicable codes and regulations
- Supervise and evaluate designs for low and high voltage power systems, lighting, fire detection and alarm networks, emergency power, security infrastructure, information and communications technology, and building management systems
- Ensure designs meet healthcare-specific regulatory frameworks such as HTMs, HBNs, and NHS guidelines
- Promote the adoption of innovative, low-carbon, and sustainable electrical technologies
- Deliver technical oversight and governance for all electrical design deliverables
- Manage the end-to-end technical execution of multiple projects from initial concept through to construction completion
- Provide authoritative electrical leadership across all stages of the RIBA design process
- Examine, authorize, and formally approve technical documents, specifications, and engineering reports
- Work closely with mechanical, public health, sustainability, and digital/BIM specialists to produce fully coordinated building services designs
- Lead, coach, and grow a team of skilled electrical engineers
- Assist in workforce planning, hiring, talent development, and performance evaluation activities
- Establish and uphold industry-leading processes, quality assurance and control protocols, and compliance with internal and external standards
