Sourcefit is hiring an Electrical Engineer – IR & Power Quality Analysis

About the Role

This role involves conducting infrared thermography and power quality assessments to identify electrical faults and inefficiencies. The engineer will collect data, generate reports, and support clients in maintaining compliant and efficient electrical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Perform infrared inspections on electrical equipment and systems
  • Analyze power quality data including harmonics, voltage fluctuations, and transients
  • Identify potential electrical hazards and recommend corrective actions
  • Prepare detailed technical reports summarizing findings and recommendations
  • Use thermal imaging cameras and power quality analyzers in field settings
  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety and industry standards
  • Collaborate with clients to understand system requirements and constraints
  • Support preventive maintenance programs through predictive testing
  • Maintain accurate records of all inspection activities
  • Present results to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Troubleshoot electrical distribution systems under varying load conditions
  • Evaluate grounding systems and insulation integrity
  • Assess motor control centers and switchgear for thermal anomalies
  • Monitor electrical parameters over time to detect degradation trends
  • Assist in developing testing protocols and safety procedures
  • Coordinate site access and inspection schedules with facility managers
  • Stay current with advancements in diagnostic technologies
  • Ensure all fieldwork follows OSHA and NFPA 70E guidelines
  • Operate diagnostic tools in diverse environmental conditions
  • Support engineering teams with field data for system upgrades

Required Certifications

  • Level I or II Infrared Thermography certification from a recognized body

Work Environment
