Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of the annual SOX 404 compliance initiative, covering scope definition, risk evaluation, control documentation, testing procedures, and corrective actions.
- Sustain and refine the internal control over financial reporting (ICFR) framework, ensuring control design and operational effectiveness align with COSO 2013 and PCAOB standards.
- Chair the SOX steering committee and act as the main point of contact for external auditors, reporting compliance progress, risk insights, and remediation strategies to executive management and the Audit Committee.
- Guide the development, assessment, and correction of controls, using professional judgment to classify deficiencies per AS 2201 and SEC guidelines, and apply AI-powered tools to support documentation, issue tracking, and data analysis—with rigorous validation for audit quality.
- Oversee SOX integration for newly acquired businesses, including evaluating legacy controls, identifying gaps, and implementing new controls consistent with the organization’s compliance framework.
- Supervise scoping and testing of IT general controls across critical financial systems by collaborating with IT and Engineering teams to ensure comprehensive coverage.
- Recruit, manage, and develop a team of SOX compliance specialists, and oversee third-party co-sourced service providers.
