Responsibilities
- Delivers high-level legal guidance on intricate commercial, regulatory, and litigation issues to support business goals while minimizing legal, regulatory, and reputational exposure.
- Leads legal strategy for major transactions and strategic deals by designing terms, negotiating risk distribution, and ensuring enforceable safeguards consistent with governance policies.
- Counsels executive leadership on legal and compliance aspects of key business initiatives, identifying critical issues, assessing alternatives, and proposing actionable risk mitigation approaches.
- Creates, updates, and manages legal standards, contract templates, playbooks, and negotiation frameworks to enhance consistency, efficiency, and risk management in contracting processes.
- Supports compliance and governance efforts by interpreting applicable laws, advising on control mechanisms, and assisting with responses to audits, regulatory inquiries, and escalated issues.
- Strengthens legal team capabilities through coaching, subject-matter expertise, and leading knowledge transfer on complex legal topics.
