About the Role

This role leads the revenue accounting function, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance with GAAP, and alignment with business operations across a global organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of revenue accounting policies and procedures
  • Oversee accurate and timely monthly close for revenue-related accounts
  • Ensure compliance with ASC 606 and other relevant accounting standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Legal, and RevOps
  • Manage audits and external reporting related to revenue recognition
  • Supervise and develop a team of accounting professionals
  • Drive process improvements and automation within the revenue accounting cycle
  • Provide guidance on complex revenue transactions and contract reviews
  • Partner with FP&A on forecasting and revenue-related analysis
  • Maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting
  • Lead system implementations and enhancements impacting revenue accounting
  • Stay current on evolving accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare and present reports for senior leadership and the audit committee
  • Support SOX compliance efforts specific to revenue processes
  • Evaluate revenue implications of new product offerings and pricing models
  • Ensure consistency in revenue treatment across global regions
  • Manage external consultant relationships related to revenue projects
  • Escalate and resolve complex accounting issues promptly
  • Promote a culture of accuracy, transparency, and accountability
  • Support external audit inquiries related to revenue recognition
  • Align revenue accounting practices with business growth strategies
  • Document accounting positions for complex arrangements
  • Monitor key performance metrics for the revenue accounting team
  • Ensure proper training and onboarding for team members
  • Advocate for scalable processes as the business expands
