Responsibilities
- Assess critical infrastructure throughout a health system and prioritize assets needing investment.
- Develop investment strategy across the mechanical portfolio within a health system. Determine allocation strategy for these critical assets
- Reviews and evaluates existing preventative maintenance program and provides completion metrics to leadership. Evaluates effectiveness of PM programs, PM procedures, and updates tasks as appropriate.
- Monitors flow and quality of work to assure timely completion of workload and adherence to facility’s standards and regulations
- Plans, coordinates, and monitors construction and development of physical facilities related to the central plant & HVAC infrastructure throughout the health system.
- Reviews, evaluates, and recommends approval of plans for construction related to the central plant infrastructure & HVAC infrastructure throughout the health system. Coordinates with engineers to provide facility input during design reviews and engineering assessments.
- Advises on structural changes and additions and/or modifications to buildings related to the central plant infrastructure & HVAC infrastructure throughout the health system.
- Interviews independent contractors to receive and analyze bids, including blueprint analysis of proposed changes related to the central plant infrastructure
- Maintains visibility of the system’s Building Automation System to verify equipment performance and assist O&M teams with troubleshooting
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or related fields)
- Work history with planning, organizing, coordinating, and/or communicating programs, services, policies and/or procedures within the central plant.
- Work history with planning, organizing, coordinating, and/or communicating programs, services, policies and/or procedures within HVAC & Controls shops.
- Minimum of 3-5 years responsibility in central plant & HVAC operations
- Proficiency in CMMS Systems, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to meet deadlines and make sound decisions, sometimes under stress
- Good physical condition and ability to operate departmental equipment
