The Director of Special Projects holds a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation and strategic advancement of a national organization dedicated to strengthening leadership within the Catholic community. Reporting directly to executive leadership, this position acts as a key coordinator across functions, bridging strategy and execution to support the organization’s long-term goals.
Strategic Leadership Support
In this role, you will serve as a primary point of contact for executive leaders, helping to manage priorities, track action items, and prepare materials for internal and external engagements. You will anticipate needs, streamline communication, and ensure timely follow-up on critical initiatives. This includes coordinating board meeting logistics, assembling briefing documents, and drafting correspondence and presentations that reflect the organization’s mission and values.
Event Planning and Execution
You will lead the full lifecycle of signature events, including annual gatherings and donor-focused fundraisers. Responsibilities include managing timelines, vendor relationships, budgets, and on-site logistics in collaboration with internal teams. After each event, you will help synthesize outcomes, produce reports, and support follow-up efforts to maintain momentum and engagement.
Development and Donor Engagement
The role actively supports fundraising objectives by preparing materials for donor meetings, assisting with cultivation activities, and contributing to grant reports and donor communications. You will help identify opportunities to deepen relationships with supporters and ensure alignment across development initiatives.
Project and Operational Leadership
As a driver of special projects, you will lead or contribute to cross-cutting efforts spanning programs, communications, partnerships, and internal operations. Success in this position requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on management, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.
