Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation, review, and submission of all SEC filings, including 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy statements, and other required disclosures, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Maintain internal controls over financial reporting
- Oversee and maintain financial reporting and certification compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement of the external reporting process and leverage automation and AI tools to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Partner cross-functionally with Legal, Strategic Finance, Information Security and Operations teams to ensure alignment on disclosures and filing timelines.
- Manage and develop a small team by providing direction, coaching, and feedback, while fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Coordinate with external auditors and ensure review and sign off on financial statements and SEC filings.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies related to financial reporting and ensure proper implementation across the organization.
- Evaluate complex transactions and lead technical accounting research and documentation.
- Support special projects, including AI-driven financial reporting innovations, internal controls enhancements, and ESG disclosures.
- Assist the Accounting team as needed with ad hoc tasks and projects
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA required.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in public accounting and industry, with a strong emphasis on SEC reporting.
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC rules and regulations, and SOX reporting requirements.
- Prior experience in a high-growth, public company environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage large-scale reporting projects.
- Experience implementing or using automation/AI tools to enhance financial reporting processes.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset.
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with ERP and reporting systems (e.g., NetSuite, Workiva, etc.).
- Comfortable working in a fully remote setting.
