Responsibilities
- Define strategic direction by aligning data, API, and AI initiatives into a clear, prioritized roadmap.
- Lead and develop 2–3 engineering managers and their teams of approximately eight engineers, fostering leadership growth and resilience in uncertain conditions.
- Champion backend system quality with emphasis on observability, security, performance, and cost efficiency, improving architecture without sacrificing delivery speed.
- Partner closely with product, design, and engineering peers to shape quarterly objectives, resolve cross-team dependencies, and ensure technical work delivers tangible user value.
- Drive continuous improvement of microservices, cloud infrastructure, and AI-based systems by balancing rapid iteration with long-term engineering integrity.
- Foster a sustainable, collaborative engineering culture rooted in humility, clear communication, and asynchronous workflows that prevent burnout.
