About the Role

Lead the engineering department by setting technical direction, managing development teams, and aligning engineering efforts with organizational goals. Oversee system architecture, development practices, and delivery of key technology initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the long-term technical vision for the platform
  • Manage and mentor a team of software engineers
  • Oversee the design and implementation of scalable backend systems
  • Ensure code quality through best practices and code reviews
  • Collaborate with product and design teams to deliver user-focused features
  • Drive adoption of modern development tools and processes
  • Monitor system performance and reliability
  • Lead incident response and post-mortem analysis
  • Establish engineering standards and documentation practices
  • Recruit and onboard new engineering talent
  • Support continuous integration and deployment pipelines
  • Evaluate and integrate third-party technologies
  • Align engineering priorities with organizational objectives
  • Manage engineering budget and resource allocation
  • Promote a culture of innovation and accountability
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy and security standards
  • Facilitate cross-team collaboration on technical projects
  • Track and report on engineering team performance metrics
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks
  • Lead architectural reviews and system design sessions
  • Support open-source contributions where applicable
  • Foster professional development for engineering staff
  • Evaluate emerging technologies for potential adoption
  • Maintain clear communication with executive leadership
  • Ensure timely delivery of engineering milestones
