PowerLines is hiring a Director of Development

As Director of Development, you will guide the design and execution of comprehensive fundraising strategies to advance the organization’s mission. Your leadership will ensure alignment between development goals and institutional priorities, driving sustainable revenue growth through diverse funding streams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a multi-year fundraising strategy focused on major gifts, grants, and institutional partnerships
  • Lead a team of development professionals, providing mentorship, performance oversight, and professional growth opportunities
  • Build and maintain relationships with high-value donors, foundation representatives, and key stakeholders
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to communicate impact, program outcomes, and funding needs
  • Oversee proposal development, donor reporting, and grant compliance across public and private funders

Qualifications

Candidates should bring proven success in nonprofit development leadership, with a track record of securing significant gifts and managing complex campaigns. Strong written and interpersonal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to analyze data and translate mission goals into compelling funding cases.

Experience managing budgets, leading teams, and working across cross-functional departments is required. A background in advocacy, policy, or civic engagement is highly valued. This role demands strategic thinking, integrity, and a commitment to equity and transparency in all development practices.
