Strategic Leadership & Content Vision
Develop a comprehensive content roadmap aligned with business objectives, translating priorities into compelling narratives across verticals and customer journeys. Establish a scalable editorial model that balances in-house capabilities with external resources, ensuring consistency in voice, quality, and impact. Define governance processes for content intake, prioritization, and lifecycle management—knowing when to scale, refresh, or retire assets based on performance and strategic alignment.
Team Development & Operational Excellence
Lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, creativity, and continuous improvement. Operate as a player-coach—guiding strategy while actively contributing to content creation when needed. Implement modern workflows enhanced by AI tools and content platforms, setting clear standards for ethical use, factual accuracy, and brand integrity. Train teams to leverage generative AI, SEO intelligence, and analytics systems to increase speed and efficiency without sacrificing quality.
Integrated Communications & Measurable Impact
Collaborate with executives to craft authored pieces, speeches, and social narratives that reflect organizational perspective. Oversee production of long-form research, white papers, blogs, case studies, and social content, ensuring alignment with product marketing and revenue goals. Lead public relations strategy in partnership with agency teams, measuring media performance and optimizing for reach and credibility. Integrate social and paid strategies with demand generation, using data to refine approach and demonstrate pipeline influence.
Channel Strategy & Future-Ready Content
Design content for discovery across traditional search, AI-driven answer engines, and emerging platforms. Apply SEO and AEO best practices using tools like Semrush, Ahrefs, Google Analytics, and Search Console. Ensure brand consistency across all owned and earned channels, from website to media placements. Report results in executive-ready formats, linking content performance to business outcomes including brand lift, engagement, and revenue contribution.
Qualifications & Experience
- 10+ years in content, editorial, or communications leadership with a track record of delivering measurable business results
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage complex workflows, and align content with revenue goals
- Strong grasp of SEO, analytics, CMS platforms, and content operations
- Experience in SaaS or software environments preferred
- Background in PR, agency work, or regulated industries such as healthcare or financial services is an advantage
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role with primary locations in Chicago, IL and St. Louis, MO. The position offers flexibility to work remotely, with periodic in-person collaboration and events in both cities. Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this position is $125,000 to $150,000, with eligibility for discretionary variable pay.
