WRSTBND is hiring a Director of Business Development, Sports

Drive growth in sports events through strategic business development. As the Director of Business Development, Sports, you will shape and execute strategies to expand market reach and increase revenue. Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll identify high-value opportunities, build a consistent sales pipeline, and close deals that align with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets set by executive leadership.
  • Develop and manage a pipeline of qualified prospects that match the company’s ideal client profile.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing proposals, working closely with legal when needed to resolve terms and finalize agreements.
  • Respond to new inquiries within 24 hours to maintain strong client engagement.
  • Coordinate with account managers and sales teams to ensure smooth and timely deal progression.
  • Oversee client transitions from sales to operations, ensuring project teams are fully prepared to deliver.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and lead follow-up activities according to established sales workflows.
  • Maintain accurate records in sales tools including HubSpot, Notion, and Flex to support team efficiency.
  • Represent the organization at industry events and on-site meetings as needed.

Qualifications

Candidates must have established connections in the sports events industry and a solid understanding of event operations and technology platforms. Strong negotiation skills and experience managing contracts with legal teams are essential. You should have a history of surpassing sales goals and excelling in client-facing roles.

Proficiency with CRM systems such as HubSpot, collaboration tools like Asana and Notion, and standard productivity software is required. A college diploma is mandatory; advanced credentials in business or sales are advantageous.

Prior success managing high-profile clients, experience in event tech innovation, and background in startup environments are highly valued.

Work Environment

This is a globally remote role with flexible location options. You’ll operate within a distributed team structure, supported by digital collaboration platforms.

Compensation & Benefits

Offers include a competitive base salary, eligibility for an annual bonus, and comprehensive benefits: health, life, and disability insurance, 401K, paid parental leave, vacation, sick leave, and PTO. Equity is not part of the compensation package at this time.
