Lead and grow a high-performing business development team focused on acquiring new commercial clients in technical, engineering, life sciences, and non-IT industries. This role is responsible for shaping and executing a strategic sales plan that drives client acquisition and expands market presence through direct and SOW-based engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy a scalable sales strategy to consistently meet and exceed revenue targets.
- Collaborate with lead generation teams to refine outreach approaches and ensure a steady flow of qualified opportunities.
- Partner with internal proposal specialists to respond effectively to RFIs and RFPs in the commercial sector.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, procurement teams, and department leaders to understand staffing demands and deliver tailored solutions.
- Manage both new and existing accounts, ensuring rapid fulfillment of client needs and long-term engagement through regular in-person visits.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to identify new growth areas and enhance competitive positioning.
- Utilize sales automation platforms and AI-powered tools to streamline outreach, improve efficiency, and scale operations.
- Represent the organization at networking events to expand the business pipeline and strengthen market presence.
Qualifications
- University degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 10 years in sales and business development, with at least 5 years focused on direct and SOW-based commercial clients.
- Proven track record in managing lead generation teams and driving pipeline growth.
- Hands-on experience with RFI/RFP processes and client acquisition in complex sales environments.
- Skilled in implementing sales automation systems and integrating emerging technologies into outreach workflows.
- Strong leadership abilities with a clear focus on vision, execution, and team development.
- Willingness to travel 30–40% of the time to client sites and industry events.
