As Director of Advocacy and Legislation, you will design and manage high-impact campaigns focused on modernizing democracy through policies like ranked choice voting, open primaries, and citizen-led ballot initiatives.
Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute legislative strategies at both state and local levels, aligning policy goals with political realities. Set measurable objectives, manage timelines, and oversee data tracking to ensure campaign effectiveness. Translate broad reform visions into structured, actionable plans with clear milestones.
Coalition and Relationship Management
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers involved in voter outreach and campaign operations
- Build and sustain partnerships with civic organizations, community leaders, and reform-focused nonprofits
- Coordinate joint advocacy actions, lobby days, and legislative briefings to amplify collective impact
- Represent the organization in statewide coalitions and serve as a public voice on election reform priorities
Policy and Communications Oversight
Manage legislative communications, supporter engagement, and action alerts to mobilize public participation. Support grassroots fundraising and list-building initiatives while maintaining strong data practices. Use tools like NationBuilder, CMS platforms, and analytics software to track outreach and refine strategy.
