Lead actuarial strategy for value-based care programs across Medicare Advantage, Commercial, and Medicaid lines. In this role, you will direct the creation and refinement of actuarial models that inform financial risk assessment, pricing, and performance tracking. Your work will directly influence contract design and risk-sharing frameworks, ensuring sustainability and accuracy in provider arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the development of predictive models and financial forecasts to evaluate risk exposure and performance in value-based contracts
- Design and validate financial terms for risk-based agreements, ensuring actuarial soundness and alignment with business objectives
- Analyze claims, utilization, and cost data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost optimization
- Translate technical findings into clear, strategic insights for clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders
- Support contract negotiations with data-driven recommendations and long-term financial projections
- Lead innovation in modeling practices and drive process improvements across actuarial workflows
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify savings and improve care delivery economics
- Manage daily execution of actuarial deliverables, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and business relevance
- Present complex results effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Develop and mentor a team of actuaries, fostering growth, performance, and succession planning
Qualifications
Must have an ASA designation and at least five years of actuarial experience, including hands-on work with healthcare claims and financial datasets. Minimum of two years leading analysts. Proficiency in Excel and SQL is required. Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential.
Preference given to candidates with FSA progress or completion, experience in Medicare Advantage, government programs, or value-based care modeling, and a track record of presenting insights to leadership. Self-driven individuals who adapt quickly to new domains will thrive.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role based in Eden Prairie, MN, or remote within the U.S., with a requirement of four in-office days per week. Flexible scheduling supports work-life balance while maintaining team collaboration.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary ranges from $134,600 to $230,800 annually, with additional components including equity stock purchase, incentive programs, and 401k contributions.
