Roadpass Digital is hiring a DevOps Engineering Manager to lead our DevOps team. This is a hands-on management role where you will split your time between people leadership and senior-level technical contribution, driving the delivery of company-wide initiatives from architecture to execution.
What You'll Do
- Drive the delivery of company-level features and initiatives while aligning work with product and business goals.
- Continuously monitor deadlines and remove blockers to ensure on-time delivery.
- Contribute hands-on as a senior-level independent contributor to code and architecture.
- Design, develop, and deliver scalable, automated services and architecture.
- Architect and implement solutions using native AWS Services and other cloud/managed services.
- Ensure solutions are built using best practices and communicate infrastructure choices to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Create and apply reusable automation libraries across the company.
- Manage centralized monitoring and alerting for infrastructure and enable developer-led application monitoring.
- Set up infrastructure for easy reporting and accountability across products.
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform on-call duties.
- Plan and coordinate infrastructure and operations for new projects and acquisitions.
- Monitor, advise, and implement solutions to address security and risks for company infrastructure.
- Evaluate and prioritize DevOps initiatives for the company.
- Manage and prioritize day-to-day tasks for the DevOps team.
- Hold regular 1:1 meetings with direct reports, fostering two-way feedback.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of DevOps engineers, building a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Own performance reviews and career growth for direct reports and actively participate in hiring.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of experience in a full-time DevOps or SRE role.
- 1+ years of management experience with proven delivery on company goals.
- 5+ years of experience with EKS or similar Kubernetes platforms.
- 5+ years of experience with GitHub Actions.
- 5+ years of programming experience (Python, Go, or Ruby preferred).
- 5+ years of experience with AWS Services.
- Understanding of web development, infrastructure requirements, and scripting languages.
- Demonstrated knowledge of infrastructure as code, automation, and tools like Terraform (Terragrunt) and Ansible.
- Experience with Bash.
- Experience with DevOps and infrastructure automation best practices.
- Experience supporting and simplifying configuration for multiple local development and staging environments.
- Experience with Linux system administration and the command line interface.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
- Self-motivated and able to handle full autonomy while managing a remote team.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate to meet project goals.
Nice to Have
- 1+ years of experience managing a remote team.
- Experience with modern application infrastructure and tooling like CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- AWS SageMaker experience.
