Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable automation systems in Python to ensure consistent deployment across cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
- Speed up infrastructure setup by developing Terraform code-generation tools using Python and Jinja2 templates tailored to specific environments.
- Maintain high system reliability and adherence to standards through Puppet modules, manifests, and Hiera configurations for large-scale Linux and Windows systems.
- Boost efficiency on Windows platforms by building powerful PowerShell scripts for server administration, Active Directory tasks, and cloud integrations.
- Develop internal tools, command-line utilities, and APIs to streamline complex infrastructure processes and enable self-service operations.
- Integrate automation frameworks into CI/CD pipelines to ensure safe, validated, and automated infrastructure deployments.
- Implement thorough testing practices for infrastructure code, including unit tests, linting, and integration tests, to improve software quality and reduce deployment risks.
- Collaborate with cloud, platform, and application teams to identify manual workflows and implement automation-driven solutions.
- Produce clear documentation, standards, and runbooks to support long-term scalability and ease of maintenance for automation systems.
- Support a culture of engineering excellence by participating in code reviews, sharing knowledge, and improving the security and quality of automation tools.
