About the Role
The Desktop Engineer will manage desktop environments, deploy hardware and software, and provide technical support to ensure seamless operations for end users.
Responsibilities
- Install and configure desktop computers, laptops, and peripheral devices
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues in a timely manner
- Support and maintain operating systems across the enterprise
- Deploy software updates and security patches using management tools
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues affecting desktop performance
- Maintain accurate records of hardware and software inventory
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding of employee workstations
- Provide technical guidance to less experienced team members
- Respond to service desk tickets related to desktop problems
- Ensure compliance with organizational security policies on endpoints
- Configure and support virtual desktop environments
- Perform system imaging and provisioning using standardized methods
- Collaborate with IT teams to roll out new technology initiatives
- Monitor endpoint performance and recommend improvements
- Support mobile device integration with desktop systems
- Implement and manage endpoint backup solutions
- Evaluate new desktop technologies for potential deployment
- Assist in disaster recovery procedures involving desktop infrastructure
- Maintain documentation for desktop support processes
- Ensure proper licensing for desktop software
- Support remote access tools for offsite employees
- Troubleshoot printing and scanning issues across departments
- Work with vendors for hardware repairs and replacements
- Enforce password and access control policies on desktops
- Assist with Active Directory user and group management
