The Design Engineer will play a key role in advancing product performance and reliability within demanding industrial environments. Working within the engineering group, this individual will lead design initiatives for wear parts, from concept through to production, ensuring technical accuracy and alignment with manufacturing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Create 3D models and detailed engineering drawings using advanced CAD tools, adhering to drafting and technical standards
- Conduct on-site inspections and reverse engineer components to support product enhancements
- Collaborate with manufacturing, sales, and order processing teams to implement design updates and manage part transitions
- Generate and maintain technical documentation for product use, fabrication, and compliance
- Support the protection and controlled distribution of engineering intellectual property
- Participate in quality, safety, and continuous improvement efforts across the engineering lifecycle
- Travel to customer locations as needed for installation support, performance reviews, and data collection
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field
- Proficiency in 3D modelling and 2D drafting, particularly with Siemens NX or comparable software
- Strong command of written and spoken English
- Experience in technical analysis, including simulation or structural calculations, is advantageous
- Familiarity with PLM platforms such as Teamcenter, 3D scanning, or Geomagic tools is preferred
- Background in mining, mineral processing, or heavy manufacturing environments highly valued
- Knowledge of FEA or DEM analysis tools like ANSYS is beneficial
